I went back to work today. Yesterday, Wendy and I met with the lawyers to begin the process of dealing with Mom's estate. Before life becomes ordinary again, I need to look back and remember the past few days.
I enjoyed meeting all of you this week. It was exactly what I had hoped. I enjoyed your stories about Mom, and remembrances, and I also was glad to be able to put names and faces together.
For those of you who spoke about Mom Sunday, thank you for helping me remember the before. Some days, I forgot what Mom was like before she was diagnosed.
The meeting with Bill and Wendy started me thinking about the things we keep. And conversely, the things we chose to let go.
I kept Mom's blankets. If you have ever been at Mom's house, you know these blankets .. the snuggly ones that she would put in the dryer to get them warm before she would tuck you in.
Think about the things you would keep and the things you would let go.
