XM, No Static at All

Today I went to Raleigh for a PUG meeting. I never spend more than 5 minutes in my car, so 1 45 minute drive was almost a treat. Where else can I hear Meatstick and Brass Monkey without it being on a play list? Plus a little Bon Iver thrown in for good measure.

Yes, I was the old lady in the Civic on the Beltline who was singing "That Chunky Monkey" at the top of my lungs today at lunch. I am so incredibly cool...

Hi, Robin. I've just finished catching up on your posts. I'm ashamed to say, it's been a while since I've checked in.
I thought of your mom last week. I was searching for a snack in the frig and found a container of Stan's Pimento Cheese. My husband had bought it recently. My mind immediately went back to a day, back in the '88, probably. I was working as receptionist/girl-Friday for the law firm headed up by Mr. Hunter. Your mom worked downstairs for NRG. Anyway, she had come up to see Mr. H., and was leaving. Something came up about food and Pat told me about Stan's. "It's the best," she had said. So next time I was at the grocery store, I picked up a container. She was so right.
Last week, I sat on the couch with a few crackers and some of Stan's are remembered that day. Your mom was wearing a light skirt of some color, and a mauve blouse with the long tie. And her hair! I smile as I type this. A good memory of Pat. Just thought I would pass it on.
Take care. Judy
